New York Times Bestseller List Probably one of the best known book lists, the New York Times also provides further links to in-depth information about many of the listed books, including past reviews and related articles. Some may even include the first chapter!
The Globe Books section of the Globe and Mail provides an in-depth Canadian perspective on many new titles. The bestseller lists in this section also include special Canadian Fiction and Nonfiction categories.

Pulitzer Prize This American award site lists all the part winners and finalists by category.
Nobel Prize for Literature This site lists the Nobel laureates in Literature.
Man Booker Prize This annual award is one of the most highly prized literary awards. Featuring the current shortlisted nominees and/or winner. The archives include a listing of winners since 1969.
Man Booker International Prize This award recognizes one author for their achievement in fiction and any living author in the world may qualify. It is presented every two years. The site features the current nominees and/or winner. The archives include a listing of past winners since 2005.
Canadian Awards
Stephen Leacock Memorial Award for Humour The site provides lists of winners all the way back to 1947. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many of these Canadian books I had read, enjoyed and recommended to others.
Scotiabank Giller Prize (listing only) This award is given to an author of a Canadian novel or short story collection published in English and must have been published in the previous year. Unfortunately, the Scotiabank Giller Prize home page does not provide an extensive list of past winners.
Governor General's Award This award is presented by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Governor General of Canada for Canadian Literature in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, children’s literature (text and illustration) and translation.
