The new library software, Polaris, is starting to become more a part of our lives here at the library. For a while, it was like an unwelcome stranger had parked itself on our doorstep and was refusing to move on. But as we get to know each other, perhaps this stranger isn’t QUITE so bad, and maybe, just maybe, it might even become a friend some day.
Many thanks to those of you that have reported on little snafus and gibbles, all of these have been forwarded on up and either fixed or passed on to Polaris as concerns. Expect the next update of the software to provide the ability to place holds on items in your lists.
Of course, having barely re-grown our organizational hair after the Polaris adventure, we are heading straight into the re-design of the Library website. Our goal is to firstly make it a joy to use and secondly, a breeze to update. With any luck, the preliminary site will be up by the middle of March.
