[as missed in the Sexsmith Sentinel] by Sheryl Pelletier
The first sign of spring is here at the library. Most people watch for the first robin, or the lengthening days, but here at the library the surest sign of spring is… gardening books! People are already starting to plan and dream, not just about spring, but about summer and the delights of flowering yards and bountiful gardens. There is nothing better than a stack of well-illustrated books to inspire and motivate. Interlibrary reserves can bring a wealth of information to you at no cost (so long as you bring it back on time!)
I will actually be able to put flowers in Len’s beautifully built, ever so slightly leaning, brick flower garden this spring! Combine that with real grass (as opposed to the imaginary kind), a tree, and a clothesline and I will be content for at least into June.
Fall Bazaar meeting
The Fall Bazaar is going ahead, full speed and with piles of energy. Saturday, October 24, 2009 is the chosen date.
The Friends felt that going back to the original date in late October was worth the effort, as it will eliminate scheduling conflicts with other events. Please book your tables as soon as you can, as it will lessen the last minute stress on everyone.
