Library Programs

In addition to our regular and popular programs, such as Time for Tots and Afterschool Crafts,  the Library also co-sponsors Family Literacy programming with Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning.

Summer Reading Program 

 Why is Summer Reading important?  Studies show that children who read throughout the summer maintain their literacy skills at a higher level than those children who do not read.

Participation in Summer Reading Programs has been proven to help children maintain these skills because throughout the summer months they are encouraged to read for fun and enjoyment. 

 

Author Visit

Open to everyone

  

Once per year, Peace Library System sponsors an author visit to libraries in the region. Sexsmith receives its visit in early October.  In the past, financial support has been received by The Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Young Alberta Book Society.  I
